Two weeks notice? Yeah, right. The practice of advising an employer that you're about to jump ship used to be a basic courtesy. The considerate employee would offer to work two weeks before leaving.
But many employers are reporting that young workers, members of the so-called Generation Y, are ignorant of the two-week notice custom. They say it's not uncommon for workers simply to fail to show up for work when they've had enough of a job.
