Man charged after chase - By Ethan Baron, VancouverSun, Canada
The driver then led police on a rush-hour chase through Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge, making three U-turns on the Lougheed Highway, and smashing into two empty parked police vehicles while officers laid down spike belts.
Girard, a millwright, was a loner who disliked authority and immigration, said Brian Zdrilic, business manager of the B.C. millwrights union.
"He wasn't enamoured with the system or the police. He always had issues with rules," Zdrilic said yesterday.
"As a Canadian, he felt he was being lost in the system, with all the immigrants. He complained to me a few times, 'Here I am a third-pioneer generation, and they get everything for free.'"------------------------------------------- posted 6:32 AM :: reference link ::
