    Adbusters Culture Jammers Headquarters Esso Loses Fight to Stifle Freedom of Speech March 7, 2003

    A French judge ruled Wednesday that Stop Esso campaigners can continue using the spoof logo, which replaces the double S in Esso to read: E$$O. The decision overturns the earlier lower court ruling.

    The court's statement is "an important victory for free speech on the internet, a victory for the climate, and evidence that Esso's strategy to silence critics using the courts was futile," said Greenpeace in a statement.
