Senate kills Alaskan wildlife refuge drill plans "We have some new senators who don't have all the facts regarding the issue," said Jerry Hood, secretary-treasurer of the Alaska Teamsters and a special assistant on energy policy to Teamsters President James Hoffa. "We didn't have enough time to educate them."
"Arctic drilling would not put a dent in our dependence on foreign oil, would do nothing to strengthen our national security, and would not save consumers a dime," said Carl Pope, executive director of the Sierra Club.
