Fourth annual Women in Construction event 'blows up stereotypes' As jackhammers blared, buzz saws whirled and hammers pounded, women ranging in age from six to 60 had the chance to visit more than 30 free workshops. Going from table to table, women could learn the basics of home repair and upkeep in an afternoon. The activities included everything from sheetrock, plumbing and electrical repairs to fire safety and historic preservation. From roof construction to concrete pouring, women could learn the basics of home repairs from the top to the bottom.
