Wind farm backers draw support The wind farm was supported by representatives from the Seafarers International Union, the largest labor organization for fishermen and merchant mariners in the North Atlantic, and the Marine Trades Council, which includes the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and 17 other trade organizations.
"What's important about this project is not only the jobs, but they're jobs that pay a living wage, and also jobs that provide training and a level of health insurance that all unions try to represent," said Stephen Dolan of Mashpee of the New England Regional Council of Carpenters.
