Forest company, unions join forces
B.C.'s forestry changes were supposed to spark an industry revival, but opponents say the new policies are hurting workers, companies and communities
"This government has walked away from the coastal British Columbia forest industry," said Dave Coles, CEP western region vice-president.
"There's thousands and thousands of workers out of work, needlessly. This government has got to step to the plate and say, 'we're here to protect forest workers.'"
The CEP represents the majority of B.C. pulp mill workers.------------------------------------------- posted 7:15 AM :: reference link ::
