Porches, decks safety checked? City offering free inspection
Porches and decks can be the best part of summer but with the recent collapse of a balcony at an East Coast three-story apartment complex that left several people dead, the International Code Council (ICC) has issued a warning about raised surfaces of all kinds and Santa Paula is offering courtesy safety inspections.
“A majority of the time when you see a deck collapse like that it’s the deck of a house,” said Stuart.
