Canadian LifeQuilt to be shown in B.C. The Workers' Compensation Board of BC is sponsoring the showing of the Canadian LifeQuilt, a unique, permanent memorial dedicated to the thousands of young women and men killed or injured on the job.
This masterwork will be on display from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the main foyer of the WCB administrative office at 6951 Westminster Highway, Richmond, until August 15.
The design of the nine-by-eighteen foot LifeQuilt centers around a figure holding its hands up to the heavens. One hundred commemorative quilt blocks surrounding the image are dedicated to individual workers. Twenty-two of the blocks represent young workers from BC who have died on the job.
