Milwaukee man, 50 others speak out on ‘Show us the Jobs' tour By STEVE CAHALAN
Larson said he joined the eight-state, 18-city tour, 'because I think America needs to wake up. I'm seeing the loss of jobs, and they keep saying the economy is going up. It's going up for big corporate business, but it's not going up for the average worker. We're losing jobs not temporarily but permanently.'
Larson held several industrial jobs over the years, such as welder, steelworker, steamfitter and truck driver. 'As you follow along in history, that's just the way those companies went down,' he said. He switched to computer work 12 years ago, thinking that would provide job security.
He was a computer help desk technician until he was laid off in February 2001, and hasn't been able to find a steady job in that field since then.
