Lawyers in court on garage collapse By John Curran, AP
''The defendants have to stand up and be accountable,'' said attorney Paul D'Amato, who represents seven injured construction workers and the estate of victim Robert A. Tartaglio. ''People died, people were seriously injured and to date we've gotten no explanation of what happened. We're going to get that before this is over.''
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the lead investigator, is expected to issue a report on the collapse by April 30. It will focus on whether safety standards were adhered to on the construction site, though not necessarily on what caused the collapse, according to OSHA spokeswoman Kate Dugan.
