Canada should join in global ban on the use and importation of asbestos Canada NewsWire
'Canada, a country with an international reputation for protecting the environment, is engaged in the global trafficking of a lethal commodity,' says Mary Cook, Managing Director of OHCOW. 'Canada has exported more than 95% of all the asbestos it has produced, making it the 2nd biggest asbestos exporter in the world.'
'I am astonished that, after all the documented human suffering caused from this deadly substance, asbestos production still continues,' she said.
