Georgetti's speech to attack mobility roadblocks to effective national apprenticeship program Canada NewsWire
Georgetti's speech will in large part address growing government barriers to interprovincial skills mobility and portability, roadblocks that are hobbling efforts to develop a national apprenticeship strategy.
"We know that the skills requirements and technical complexity of jobs are increasing," says Georgetti. "We know that employers are desperate for trained workers. We know we have workers who want training.
"And what do we have? A skills crisis. An inability of governments to match resources to needs. Worse still, those same governments fighting over jurisdictions rather than dealing with real problems. And, we also face a refusal by the corporate community to pull its weight."
