Some contractors check for mold using sophisticated monitoring equipment. Bootz uses his nose.
The Labrador-Great Dane mix has been sniffing around baseboards and basements lately with his handler, Michelle Gerhard.
'He's found mold behind sheetrock ... up in the ceiling,' said Gerhard.
The Pennsylvania Mold Dog, owned by Gerhard and her husband, Trevor, is just one of the methods contractors in Northeastern Pennsylvania use to locate mold, which can pose a health problem for homeowners, landlords, schools and businesses.------------------------------------------- posted 6:35 AM :: reference link ::
