Shipbuilders blame problems on fast ferry fiasco CBC News
George McPherson of the Shipyard Workers Federation says B.C. shipyards were not allowed to bid on the lucrative contract.
'I hate to keep throwing it out there, but I think it's coming back to punish the industry for cost overruns that they had on the fast ferry program,' he says.
McPherson made his comments during a tour of the Allied Shipyards facility in North Vancouver Wednesday morning.
The shipbuilders had hoped the tour would convince B.C. Ferries to ignore a consultant's report that says it's cheaper to build replacement ferries in Europe.------------------------------------------- posted 6:14 AM :: reference link ::
