PARRISH - If the 100-plus picketers didn't get your attention, the gargantuan rat did.
Just as the Florida sun inched its way over the horizon Friday, more than 100 disgruntled union workers stood outside the entrance to Florida Power & Light Co.'s Parrish power plant, sending a not-so-subtle message to passers-by. That message: Skilled local workers have been overlooked in favor of out-of-state labor.
Some drivers stared wide-eyed. Others ignored them all together. But nobody missed the 18-foot inflatable rat with a stogie in its mouth and 'ZACHRY' stretched across its chest.------------------------------------------- posted 6:45 AM :: reference link ::
