Wall collapses at building site The Journal News.com, NY
Members of Local 46 of the Metallic Lathers Union and Reinforcing Iron Workers were picketing across the street when the accident occurred. Fred LeMoine, a union representative, said the local was picketing the work site — members have been there for the past two weeks — because they said nonunion personnel working there do not receive prevailing wages. LeMoine also accused subcontractors at the site of unsafe working conditions.
He pointed to rods protruding from poured concrete that posed a danger to workers because they were not covered.------------------------------------------- posted 6:35 AM :: reference link ::
