Manous may get sentencing break By Steve Walsh, Gary Post Tribune, IN
Shortly after his indictment in September 2003, Manous gave prosecutors a complete accounting of his role in the land deal, according to prosecutors.
The Indiana Regional Council of Carpenters Pension Fund paid $10 million in 1999 for 55 acres in the Coffee Creek development in Chesterton. Manous told prosecutors that he was the bridge between the union, for which he previously had done legal work, and real estate broker Kevin Pastrick, a personal and family friend.
Manous said union official Gerry Nannenga influenced the pension board’s decision to buy the land at an inflated price.------------------------------------------- posted 5:19 PM :: reference link ::
