Silence at MII BY PAUL AYARS, Lincoln Courier, IL
Union representatives say MII's proposal strips away most union rights, nearly quadruples employee insurance premiums and provides for no pay increase the first year and merit increases after that.
Workers hit the picket line when the old four-year contract expired at midnight Sunday and have been out since.
'We've had no communications with the company' since talks broke off a week ago, said Perry Sundell, business agent for the Midstate Illinois Council of Carpenters, the union representing Lincoln production workers.------------------------------------------- posted 9:15 AM :: reference link ::
