    Expanded investigation to ID more Big Dig defects By Casey Ross, BostonHerald
    While a political battle rages over Big Dig cost recovery, project managers yesterday disclosed an expanded investigation into 165 potential trouble spots in tunnel walls already plagued by shoddy construction and hundreds of leaks.

    The announcement of the expanded inquiry sparked concerns among officials who likened the gradual disclosure of work deficiencies to "Chinese water torture.''
