According to ABC, safety training in Spanish has lagged. Some local companies, such as Brand Scaffold Builders, now have as many as 95 percent foreign-born Hispanic workers, said Brand division manager Kenny Baker.
Construction companies in the area are doing their best to keep up. Some at the meeting said they offer English and Spanish language classes to teach construction and safety vocabulary, or give bilingual workers different- colored hard hats to help employees know whom to turn to for translation.------------------------------------------- posted 12:39 PM :: reference link ::
