WTO panel to rule on Canada-U.S. lumber dispute CBC News
The WTO ruled in February and March last year that the U.S. had the right to impose duties on Canadian lumber but that some breached international trade rules because the U.S. Commerce Department had miscalculated them.
The U.S. claims it has complied with the WTO's ruling by trimming duties last month, while Canada maintains the cuts are too small and fail to respect the WTO decision.
Canada had also asked the WTO for the authority to retaliate on a maximum of $200 million of American imports. However, that decision was put off pending the compliance panel's ruling.
