GAS TANK COWBOYS - By Karen Matthews, Geelong Advertiser, Australia
TWO PROFESSIONAL firefighters allowed three carpenters to use an electric powered rattle gun and log-splitter in an environment filled with inflammable gas.
When fumes vapourising from a nearby drum ignited, all three were burned, one seriously.
CFA firefighters James Cooper and David Abbey, directors of Consolidated Fire Services Pty Ltd, who employed the men, yesterday copped fines totalling $30,000 for failing to maintain a safe workplace and failing to provide supervision.------------------------------------------- posted 11:25 AM :: reference link ::
