Labour activists in all unions, nationally and perhaps internationally, need to take a new look at the possibility of decertification of moribund unions and the formation of new, democratic unions. The pressures and problems of big business attacks will be the same, but new unions will begin with a much smaller bureaucracy, more attuned to the rank and file.
