An apprentice union plumber in the region can work on the job and undergo five years of training -- 240 hours annually -- for a mere $100-a-year tuition, with full benefits, said Lee Dolfi, coordinator of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 354 training center in Youngwood.
