Ruling allows Phoenix picketers to continue - By HOWARD FISCHER, Arizona Daily Sun
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected legal efforts by the National Labor Relations Board to block members of Carpenters Local 1506 from displaying banners which say 'Shame On' followed by the name of the company which is having remodeling done on its offices. The banners also state this is part of a 'labor dispute.'
In its 2-1 decision, the judges rejected arguments by NLRB the picketing is unfair because the Carpenters do not, in fact, have a 'labor dispute' with the firms named. In fact, the dispute actually is with the general contractor who hires subcontractors who hire non-union labor.------------------------------------------- posted 10:52 AM :: reference link ::
