Yeagy described the situation at Local 1005 as a warring factions, including the leadership under Hernandez and the business agents. Ultimately, the international decided to step in based on complaints that members were being turned away from union meetings, without being allowed to speak.
There were 50 members who spoke at the meeting in Merrillville.
"Only one of them said they thought the local could solve their problems by themselves. The rest said they needed supervision," Yeagy said.
