Rights body seeks union information - By PATRICIA BROOKS ARENBURG, Halifax Herald
The Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission wants a judge's order forcing a carpenters' union accused of sex discrimination to hand over information about its members.

The commission has repeatedly asked the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 1588 for statistics about its members, including their names, qualifications and the number of female union members hired, as part of its probe into a 2003 complaint filed by a female member against her union.
