Bloggers defiant about request for removal of "anti-management" material - CBC On The Line
The clauses caused an uproar among many CMG-member bloggers, whose work is widely credited with helping to turn media and public sentiment against the lockout. Official CMG sites often included links to the unofficial blogs.
In a strongly worded response to the clauses titled 'I will NOT erase history,' Maffin wrote on his website that he supports 'pretty much everything' CMG negotiators achieved for its members, but he will not remove any material from his blog.
'The last 50 days changed labour communications forever. The worst thing we can do is erase history.
'Blogs are powerful... If the Guild or CBC wants something off my web site, I will gladly provide the contact information for my lawyer and would welcome the challenge in court. Bring it.'
Other CMG bloggers, along with Ouimet, an anonymous manager who writes the highly read blog The Tea Makers, criticized the clauses and vowed to resist any attempt to remove negative references to the lockout.
THE FINAL POST: And that's it for me. - Posted by Tod Maffin, CBCunplugged.com
It's time for me to crank the pot all the way down.
