Worker sacrifices only beginning, analysts say - By Rick Haglund, MLive.com, MI DETROIT -- Paying more to keep health care benefits is just the first of many sacrifices that will be required of General Motors Corp.'s hourly workers in coming months, analysts say. Some 100,000 hourly United Auto Workers union members at GM will give up $1 an hour in future pay increases to largely preserve their health care benefits, according to details released Thursday of a tentative agreement with GM.
