AFL-CIO Metal Trades Department Forges Solidarity Pact With Disaffiliated Unions - PRNewswire
Two of the four unions that withdrew from the AFL-CIO to form the Change to Win Coalition last summer have signed a Solidarity Charter Agreement with the AFL-CIO Metal Trades Department to enable disaffiliated unions to maintain active involvement in the Department's operations. SEIU and the Carpenters were also in the negotiations for the agreement and are expected to sign the same agreement as the Teamsters and UFCW, but have not done so at this time.
