Cost of new bridge set to take an Olympic leap warn experts - By ALAN RODEN, Scotsman, United Kingdom
Gordon Davies, Scottish chairman of the Construction Industry Council, said there is currently a shortage of tradesmen and women across the country.

"With major projects like the Olympic Games, where bodies are paying huge amounts of cash, construction workers go where the money is," he said.

"A shortage of workers has been partly helped by labour from eastern Europe, but there is still a major problem in attracting young people to the industry."
