Risky business: Day workers suffer injustice, injuries - By JOHN IWASAKI, SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER
'They may hire you as a painter. They may want you to tear down Sheetrock. They don't want to pay you extra. It's crazy. But it's the only way to get work.'
A nationwide study of day laborers found similar tales of workers who were shortchanged by employers and who felt they had little recourse.
