Using Shop Stewards For More Than Griveances - By Mark Gruenberg, PAI, ILCA Online
In a major revision of its organizing focus, the AFL-CIO Executive Council told its 54 member unions to revise the duties of their 500,000 shop stewards, making them not just grievance handlers but campaigners for democracy.
