Ariz.'s growth attracts unions - Chad Graham and Mary Jo Pitzl, The Arizona Republic
The fact that Arizona, like New Mexico, has a Democratic governor who is favorable to unions wasn't that big of a factor, he said. What the unions want is a collective-bargaining agreement codified in law, which means lawmakers' support is needed.
That could be a tall order in this state because the Legislature is dominated by Republicans who are not supportive of unions.
Arizona is steeped in at least 60 years of anti-union sentiment, and most companies actively discourage the collective-bargaining process.------------------------------------------- posted 5:15 AM :: reference link ::
