Unions say labor agreement needed for gas line - By Melissa Campbell, Alaska Journal of Commerce
If approved, it will take 8,000 to 10,000 workers to build a gas pipeline - the largest private construction project ever conceived - and there's no doubt unions will be involved.
More than a half-dozen organized labor halls would be called, including Laborers, Pipefitters, Welders, Teamsters and Operating Engineers, among others. Workers will also be needed for support services, such as caterers, carpenters, maintenance and camp services, to name a few.------------------------------------------- posted 6:09 AM :: reference link ::
