US Labor Board to hear Roger Carter case - By KATIE MARSHALL, Kinston Free Press, NC
Representatives of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America are challenging 9 votes cast in the March 17 union election. Originally 15 of the total 101 votes cast were challenged, but six challenges were resolved at the administrative level.
The union contends the nine challenged votes were cast by company supervisors and not by rank and file workers. Both company and union representatives say the votes are important because they could change the outcome of the election if the labor board rules in the company's favor. A majority of the 86 votes that were eligible went in favor of the union, 45 to 41.------------------------------------------- posted 6:35 AM :: reference link ::
