Union workers might experience more stability than others.
'We're looking at full employment for the coming years,' said Tom Villanova, president of the Chicago and Cook County Building and Construction Trades Council. His group's membership, which includes plumbers, electricians, carpenters and the like, accounts for about 100,000 industry jobs.
'We're near full employment and have been for a year,' Villanova said. 'We don't see any great rises ahead. Things will be steady, and that's good for us.'
