AFL-CIO's Flawed Organizing Strategy Raises Some Unanswered Questions - LaborTalk By Harry Kelber
There is an appropriate answer to our dilemma, but it requires that we be bold and tough. We should make a formal announcement to Corporate America that we will not allow employers to fire any worker for union activity. When such illegal firings occur, we will begin a full-scale campaign for their reinstatement, taking our case to the community, the media, political leaders, consumers and suppliers and use other means at our disposal until those workers are back at their jobs.
If we can make that pledge - and carry it out - those 57 million unorganized workers will have new respect for unions. We'll have our best chance of organizing them.------------------------------------------- posted 7:09 AM :: reference link ::
