After 6735 posts since February 2003, rawblogXport is going into sleep mode. I don't think a day has gone by in that time without at least one news article being posted. There are several good sources listed in the side bar that cover much of what rawblog attempted to highlight. Some, like LabourStart, cover both Canada and the US as I tried to, and much more.
Workday Minnesota and Workers Comp Insider have impressed me with their coverage, and while I find the new format a bit restrictive, the workers' news site I feel most closely compares to what I am interested in is workplacefairness.org which is, for some reason, as of today, about a week behind in articles...
What I miss most in the blog news roundup is Confined Space and that seems to have been a deciding factor in winding down rawblog. We started about the same time and kept a bit of a rapport going and I now also find other interests needing more of my time.
There will be the occasional labor/labour art or event article posted here, such as the AFSCME organizing video on YouTube (above), but as of today, rawblogXport is no longer a daily news blog.
Please remember to honor Workers' Memorial Day, also called Workers Day of Mourning in Canada, on April 28 every year.
fraternally, dave livingston
