Defense Department uses YouTube, bans YouTube - Ars Technica, MA The Defense Department is scheduled to cut off access to YouTube and other video-sharing sites on all of its overseas computers, according to Stars & Stripes. The decision is drenched in irony, as the Army has just started using YouTube as a recruiting and information tool, but according to a spokesperson, the blocked sites are simply consuming too much bandwidth on overseas links.
