Leader: Unions could gain ground - Billings Gazette, MT
CASPER - An abundance of jobs in construction and mining stands to boost union enrollment in Wyoming, the president of the nation's largest labor federation says.
AFL-CIO President John Sweeney also said the federal government has cut back enforcement of health and safety regulations at mines and that recent accidents would prompt miners to consider organizing.
"I really think it's going to make workers in unorganized mines look now to organization," Sweeney said.
