Collapse of earth wall in Alberta fatally injures worker - By: Canadian Occupational Health & Safety News
An excavator was loading earth into Williams' truck around the time of the incident, says Barrie Harrison, a spokesman with Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry (AEII). Williams was crushed by the wall of earth — which was 18 metres wide — and died at the scene of the accident.
    -----
The construction sector in Alberta witnessed the highest number of workplace fatalities in 2007 with 17 deaths, up from eight in 2006, notes information from AEII.
