Sudden Drama at the Window, With Workmen Dangling - By ROBERT D. MCFADDEN, New York Times Blog
Another daredevil was rigged up in a harness and sent out the window onto the sharply tilted scaffold to carry out the task. An inspector from the city’s Buildings Department, who arrived late and oversaw the scaffold salvage work, noticed that the daredevil’s harness was frayed.
“Is that the same harness the first guy was wearing?” he demanded.
“Naw,” said one of the contractor’s men.
The inspector asked about Ramon. “Was he dangling?”
“Naw,” said the contractor’s man.
“Oh, yes he was,” I said. “I saw him.”------------------------------------------- posted 6:21 AM :: reference link ::
