Committee Plans Hearings to Examine Questionable Stock Deals by ULLICO Leaders WASHINGTON, D.C. - Based on a preliminary review of the documents turned over to the House Education & the Workforce Committee by ULLICO, Inc., Chairman John Boehner (R-OH) announced today that the Committee will hold hearings on the actions of the union-owned insurance company and its board of directors who profited from questionable stock transactions at the expense of unions and the labor pension funds that own the bulk of the company's privately held stock. ULLICO is also under investigation by the Labor Department, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Justice Department.
