CBC News: Ottawa legislates safety in workplace Ottawa introduced legislation on Thursday holding corporations criminally responsible if they fail to provide a safe work environment.
The bill requires employers to take "reasonable measures" to protect workers from "physical injury or harm," said federal Justice Minister Martin Cauchon.
