Committee Subpoenas ULLICO Chairman & CEO Robert Georgine to Testify; Hearing Date Set for June 10th Widespread press reports have detailed the actions of the union-owned insurance company and its board of directors who profited from questionable stock transactions at the expense of unions and the labor pension funds that own the bulk of the company's privately held stock. ULLICO is also under investigation by the Labor Department, the Securities and Exchange Committee, and the Justice Department.
"As chairman and CEO of ULLICO, Mr. Georgine can offer the Committee a unique perspective on the stock deals he and many of the company's board of directors profited from," said Boehner. "Rank-and-file union members deserve to know whether ULLICO leaders who participated in these stock deals violated the trust they owe to their unions and union members."
ULLICO Releases Expert Legal Reviews and Analyses of Thompson Report "It just so happens that the recent leak of the Thompson report to the press by certain individuals, without benefit of the company's review and analysis, does in fact constitute a breach of trust and, what's more, appears intended to be hurtful," said Robert Georgine, "I find that to be a most disappointing aspect of this situation, but ULLICO will move on from here and fulfill its mission to organized labor, even better than before."
