    Maine to outlaw CCA-treated lumber Lawmakers in Maine have approved a ban on the sale of arsenic-treated wood.

    Arsenic-treated park tables removed The Palisades Interstate Park Commission bought 200 picnic tables earlier this year that were constructed from pressure-treated lumber that has been banned from use in the state's playgrounds because it contains arsenic, in the form of chromated copper arsenate.

    "Certainly for homeowners' use, the risks -- there are some -- people who work with this stuff need to be cognizant of that. But our primary concern would be for those who work in that industry," Toland said.
