Union carpenters endorse new 4-year contract
The Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters announced Saturday that its workers had agreed to a four-year contract.
Workers went on strike June 25 and returned to work Monday after reaching a tentative agreement. Voting on the contract took place Thursday, Friday and Saturday. About 60 percent of the 2,000 voting union members approved the contract. Health care had topped the union's list of concerns.
