Machinists rally brings light to lost jobs By CHARLES EMERICK
WATERLOO --- The president of the International Association of Machinists rallied local union members this morning, encouraging those who had lost their jobs to add their names to the 'Wall of Shame.'
Outside the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center, IAM president Tom Buffenbarger spoke to the small crowd of members in front of a truck trailer-mounted wall with more than 1,000 names of members who have lost their jobs.
'We're inviting unemployed members from across Iowa to join us and sign this wall and send a message to George Bush, the administration and Congress,' he said, 'that something has to be done to stop the bleeding of jobs. Every job that leaves this country is a piece of the future going down the toilet.------------------------------------------- posted 6:48 AM :: reference link ::
